The Vittoriano is the monument dedicated to Vittorio Emanuele I, the project is by G. Sacconi and was built (1885-1911) for the Union of Italy.
The inauguration was in 1925; it called also "Altare della Patria" becouse there  is the tumb of "Milite Ignoto" (1821). You can see very big steps on the front size, and at the end of the steps you can see the tumb.

There is a big Vittorio Emanule the first statue in gold - bronze and all culumns around. It is a huge monument and it is suppose to be all white for the marm tough polution of the city made it darker.
some people criticize this monument as it is not in the same style of other older monuments in Rome, For this reason many locals call this monument like a huge ".
There is a museum inside with stuff of the first world war.
